FMS (Future of Memory and Storage) awarded Solidigm April 5 Best of Show, Most Innovative Technology, for pioneering one of the world’s first liquid-cooled enterprise solid state drives (eSSDs). Removing the fans historically needed for storage devices, the innovation works to enable future fully liquid-cooled artificial intelligence (AI) servers.
The company was recognized during FMS, a leading global conference spotlighting breakthroughs, trends, and key innovators in the multi-billion-dollar high-speed memory, storage, and SSD markets.
“This project is a great example of how we worked across the business, from new engineers to senior leaders, to unlock one of the first cold-plate eSSD solutions for AI deployments,” said Hardeep Singh, a Solidigm hardware engineering manager responsible for seeing the innovation to fruition. “It’s an exciting time for team members to leverage cutting-edge technology and contribute to a culture of innovation at Solidigm.”
In addition to accepting the Best of Show Award onstage at FMS, Solidigm team members also demonstrated the cold-plate kit featuring the Solidigm™ D7-PS1010 E1.S 9.5mm form factor at NVIDIA’s GTC in March.
The Solidigm E1.S SSD and cold-plate kit will be available for AI servers later this year and will also come in a 15mm form factor for additional air-cooling flexibility.
